Project

Approach

Emerging social and environmental challenges require more intelligent public policies capable of connecting local needs and product/service innovations.

Political choices guided by a partial vision of the context risk generating unexpected consequences. On a regional scale, in the medium to long term, inaccurate management of development policies can generate consequences on health, the environment and the social system.

The increase in size, as well as the diversity and complexity of the data generated by the urban context require a paradigm shift in the way in which the interdependencies between service infrastructures are studied, analyzed and managed.

Solution

Nexus 2030 recognizes the complex connection between environment, economy, society and technology as the key to sustainable territorial development.

The project provides technological and methodological tools for a Digital Twin capable of exploring the interdependencies existing between the components of the territorial system by modeling their dynamics, and enabling participatory knowledge production processes to create an efficient link between science, society and policy makers, allowing members of society to have an active role in research, innovation and development of evidence-informed policy.

Engineering is the coordinator of the project and develops the set of digital twin tools.
