Nexus2030: from prototype to operational reality

In the final phase of the project, Nexus2030 entered the operational testing and field validation stage. Through WP8, pilot programs were launched in collaboration with local public authorities, companies and territorial associations, testing the Digital Twin’s capabilities in real-world scenarios such as urban environmental management, mobility, and public space regeneration.

Users gained access to the tools developed in the Simulation and Information Spaces (WP7), including real-time predictive data visualization, personalized alerts, and interaction with future scenarios via augmented reality. The mobile app was released, enabling citizens to report issues and explore future urban transformations through immersive visualizations.

From a communication standpoint, scientific outreach activities were intensified with publications, conferences, and public events. The project’s digital presence was strengthened through regular newsletters, active social media channels, and promotional materials aimed at citizens and policymakers.

The project concludes having met its technical and scientific goals, including KPIs for technical quality, security, scalability, accessibility, and replicability.
